D is for Derechos,

squalls whose palls give sheiks the shakes.
Like trains – huge trains, not HOs – 
they schlepp windshears in their wakes.
To flee, as Holden* chose, 
wind-wary folk do all it takes:
they pull up stakes, 
release their brakes,
then run like hell, for heaven's sakes!
