Mushruminations

Maya is a mushroom maven; 

Miriam's another. 

Both sew mushroom kippahs 

for Methuselah, their brother --  

mushroom kittels, mushroom tzitzits;

mushroom tallits, too. 

When I am grown, I'd like to be 

a mushroom maven, nu...?

Maya's mom's a mushroom maven, 
touts its outs 'n' ins,
inscribes tefillin parchment scripts 
on portobello skins, 
like, "Cease from anger! Fret not!" 
from the 37th psalm. 
(A mushroom maven's what I'll be: 
I'll mimic Maya's mom.)
